Subaru finally gets to breathe, and so do you. These episodes strip away the reset loops and existential dread to show you what he actually wants, a normal date, a laugh with people he cares about, snow that doesn't hide something terrible underneath. The animation treats every quiet moment like it matters, which means watching Subaru be genuinely happy for once feels earned in a way the main series never quite lets it.

Subaru Natsuki finally has some breathing room, and he spends it planning a date with Emilia. With help from the village children, he scouts the nearby village and finds the perfect spot. On the big day, though, a sudden cold snap hits Roswaal's mansion and forces him to put the date off. By the next day the chill has grown unbearable, and Subaru must uncover its cause before it becomes a far bigger problem than a missed outing. The second episode turns to Emilia's past in the icy Elior Forest, where magical beasts roam and fifty elves lie frozen. Puck frees the young half-elf from the ice, and she lives there with him as her only companion and family. Her silver hair and features recall a feared Witch, so the world shuns her. She searches for a way to save her frozen kin until the great spirit Melakuera questions whether she should be allowed to live. The pair of OVAs mixes comedy with fantasy drama.
