Seiya walks into a dying theme park run by magical beings who are actively rude to him, and the show never stops being funny about how completely absurd his job actually is. KyoAni animates every pratfall and deadpan reaction like it matters, which makes the comedy land harder than it has any right to. The romance subplot fizzles out by the end, but by then you're too invested in watching this guy actually fix a broken park full of people who resent him to care.

Seiya Kanie, a smart but deeply narcissistic high schooler, is asked out at gunpoint by transfer student Isuzu Sento, and the date turns out to be a tour of Amagi Brilliant Park, a shabby amusement park on the edge of Tokyo. There, Isuzu and Princess Latifa ask him to become the park's new manager. He thinks she's crazy until he learns the truth: many of the staff are genuine magical beings from a far-off land, sustained by the energy of guests having fun. Unless the park hits a steep attendance target in under three months, it will close and they will lose their jobs and homes. With dull or dangerous rides and a cast of rude, unmotivated performers, Seiya has to put his talents to work and turn the place around in this comedic fantasy.
