The pacing problem is real, the first twenty minutes feel like someone fumbling for the ignition. Once it catches, you're watching a Gundam film that actually trusts its own story instead of padding around it. Tomino's vision gets room to breathe without the TV series' wandering, and the Core Fighter sequences remember what mecha combat is supposed to feel like: desperate, mechanical, human-scaled even when the stakes are enormous.
