The book exists before the warriors do, which means every choice they've already made is written down somewhere, and they're walking toward it anyway. Suzunagi doesn't fight them. She just shows them what they want most, then asks if they're brave enough to want something else instead. This OVA is 50% recycled footage and it still lands because it's not interested in spectacle; it's interested in whether five samurai can choose their own story when the universe has already chosen it for them.

A book three hundred years old turns up, and it records the adventures of the legendary Samurai Troopers centuries before they took place. Its existence raises the question of whether the Troopers are simply acting out roles already written for them. A mysterious girl named Suzunagi tempts each warrior with what they want most, whether salvation, new armors or release from a life of fighting, and why she cares so much about the Troopers and their armors is a central question. The story is a five-episode adventure fantasy OVA.
