A kid running for his life across medieval Japan discovers that survival means trusting a priest who claims to see the future, and every choice they make rewires what that future looks like. The year is 1333. The Kamakura shogunate falls when Ashikaga Takauji, a trusted vassal, betrays it and leads a rebellion that wipes out the Houjou clan. Eight-year-old Houjou Tokiyuki, the rightful heir, is the only member of his family to survive. He had always preferred slipping away from his tutors and finding hiding places over training with sword or bow. A mysterious Shinto priest, Suwa Yorishige, pushes him into the fighting, predicts he will become a great hero and promises him strong allies. Hunted and fighting to stay alive, Tokiyuki swears to avenge his family and win back his birthright, relying on his gift for running away rather than on combat.
