These shorts live in the spaces between matches, where four girls eating snacks matters as much as any hand reveal. The comedy lands because it trusts you to understand why a perfectly normal conversation about mahjong tiles becomes the funniest thing you'll see all week. Built for people who watched Saki and realized they didn't want to leave that world yet.

Saki Picture Drama is a set of seven short comedy specials bundled with the third through ninth DVD volumes of the Saki anime and later included in the Blu-ray Box. The shorts present stories placed ahead of, alongside, and following the events of the first season, adding extra moments around the main storyline. With a comedy and slice of life label, they keep a light, everyday feel and suit viewers who have already seen that first season.
