Satou is just a regular high school student living his ordinary life in Yamagata. Everything changes when he discovers he can transform into Sakuran Boy DT, a ridiculous local superhero with questionable fighting skills and an even more questionable costume. Armed with this absurd power, Satou suddenly finds himself responsible for protecting his town from the shadowy organization Zaou, who have their sights set on kidnapping the mayor's daughter. What follows is a chaotic mix of comedy and action as Satou bumbles through superhero duties he never asked for. His transformation is awkward. His powers are unreliable. His enemies are actually competent, which makes the whole situation even more embarrassing. Each episode packs comedy into a tight five-minute window, relying on slapstick humor and the fundamental joke of watching an unprepared teenager fumble his way through being a hero. This is deliberately silly stuff made with Flash animation, embracing its charms rather than hiding them. If you want something that doesn't take itself seriously and respects your time commitment, this delivers quick laughs without pretense.
