A demon prince and a human sheriff become partners because the desert is killing them both faster than they can kill each other. The movie understands something most adventure stories forget: survival strips away the reasons to fight. By the end, you're not watching a buddy-cop story pretending to be about finding water, you're watching two people who started as enemies become the only thing each of them has left.

In a far-future world ruined by war, only desert remains, and a greedy king controls what little water there is. Humans and demons both suffer from the drought. Rao, a sheriff from a small town, asks the demon king for help finding a lost lake. He gets the prince Beelzebub and his assistant Thief instead. The three cross the sands facing dragons, bandits and the king's army.
