Shaft's visual gags don't need movement to land, a still frame, a text overlay, a character's dead-eyed stare at the camera does more work than five seconds of conventional animation. The comedy timing here is so compressed that entire jokes exist in the margins, invisible to anyone not paying full attention. This special introduces four girls who seem normal until the show reveals they're all quietly broken in ways that make you laugh harder than you should, because Zetsubou Sensei has always known the best comedy lives in despair.

A one-episode comedy special from 2008, this recap looks back at the second season of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Instead of covering the whole cast, it centers on four girls who did not appear in the earlier Zetsubou Shoujo Senshuu recap: Mitama Mayo, Kaga Ai, Fujiyoshi Harumi and Otonashi Meru. It works as a companion to that first recap, turning the spotlight onto the characters it left out.
