The opening five episodes sell you on a world where psychic powers are weaponized and the aesthetic is sharp enough to make you forget you're watching a game tie-in. Then the story splits between two protagonists and immediately loses the thread, choosing plot momentum over letting you actually know these characters. It looks incredible the entire time it's falling apart, which is its own kind of tragedy.

Humanity faces a terrifying new threat: the Others, grotesque creatures that fall from the sky and feed on human brains. In response, the nation's founder creates the Other Suppression Force, an elite team of young people whose psionic abilities work against the monsters. Yuito, the founder's son and a psychokinetic, endures grueling training to enlist, hoping to repay the woman from the force who rescued him when he was five. Alongside him is Kasane, a prodigy scouted for her abilities. But Kasane's dreams tell her strange things, and they pull both of them toward a fate they cannot escape, while a conspiracy capable of shaking the whole country takes shape around them.
