SYNOPSIS
A gate tears open above Mikado City, and creatures called Neighbors pour through. Humanity's only defense is Border, a secret military organization armed with experimental weapons called Triggers. Four years pass with an uneasy coexistence, and the city has learned to live alongside periodic alien invasions. Osamu Mikumo is a Border agent pretending to be an ordinary student when a Neighbor appears near his school. His Trigger fails him in combat, and he's saved by a mysterious transfer student named Yuma Kuga, who fights with impossible skill. Yuma's casual victory reveals a shocking truth: he's not human at all, but a Neighbor who crossed through the gate of his own volition. Now the two must navigate an impossible alliance. Osamu can't expose Yuma without risking both their lives. Yuma needs to protect his identity while learning what it means to exist as an alien in a world that fears him. Their partnership becomes the foundation for something neither expected: understanding between worlds.
