It spends one episode letting you think you know this story, then Scott loses the fight with Matthew Patel and vanishes, and suddenly Ramona Flowers is the detective walking her own list of exes back through her own worst decisions. That flip turns the joke into a romance with actual stakes: Ramona has to look at Roxie, at Gideon, at every person she left, and answer for it. Science Saru animates the whole thing like a comic panel that refuses to stay still, Matthew Patel gets his Bollywood-grade showstopper, and the original film cast returning gives the whole thing an eerie warmth, like a reunion that decided to rewrite itself. Necry Talkie's opening blast sets the tempo and the soundtrack never lets the pace drop. And Young Neil, of all people, ends up the one who understands the story best. Knives deserved better and this version finally knows it.one

Scott Pilgrim thinks he has found everything he needs in Ramona Flowers, the girl of his dreams.
