Ritsu still doesn't know. Season two lives entirely in that gap between what he sees and what actually happened, watching him fall for a man he's already loved and lost without knowing he's doing it twice. Takano has to carry the weight of recognition alone, which means every kiss, every confession attempt, every moment where Ritsu almost gets it becomes torture that's earned, not cheap. The show knows this asymmetry is the whole point: one person burning with memory while the other is burning with discovery, and comedy is the only thing keeping that from collapse into pure ache.

Ritsu Onodera works as a shoujo manga editor at Marukawa Shoten under the demanding, highly capable Takano Masamune, who is also his first love. Years ago Ritsu believed Takano had toyed with his feelings and dumped him, yet now Takano openly vows to make Ritsu fall for him all over again. Around them, other editors in the department juggle romances of their own. Shouta Kisa dates Kou Yukina, a 21-year-old art student, and wonders whether he truly deserves his younger boyfriend.
