The romance hits because it doesn't apologize for wanting you to watch two men fall into each other without the usual narrative permission slips. Three different couples means three different speeds of collision, and the show cycles through them fast enough that you're always landing in someone's nervous breakdown. The comedy defuses the tension just before it gets unbearable, then pulls you back in when your guard is down.

Misaki is struggling to get ready for his college entrance exams, so his brother lines up a private tutor: Akihiko Usami, a famous novelist and the brother's best friend, who starts coming on to him. Misaki is left confused by feelings he cannot explain, and things get worse when he finds one of Usami's boys' love novels. Elsewhere, literature lecturer Hiroki Kamijou is at his lowest after a failed romance when he meets Nowaki, a student who wants help with an exam. Kamijou turns him down again and again before finally agreeing. Meanwhile, the easygoing Miyagi hides his troubles behind jokes, while Shinobu, the younger brother of his former wife, insists the two of them are destined to be together. The result is a romantic comedy drama that tells three love stories side by side.
