Hoori is a remote mountain village with no train service, cut off enough from the outside world that it feels stuck in the past, and that old-fashioned charm has made it a popular hot-springs destination. One of its famous sights is the legendary katana Murasamemaru, lodged in a stone that nobody has ever managed to pull it from, until Masaomi Arichi somehow snaps it in two. To make amends, he must marry Yoshino, the village's shrine maiden princess. The engagement is only the start of a strange new life: alongside his fiancée, he meets a mysterious girl whom only he can touch and begins to uncover the curse that lingers over the town. Amid all this upheaval, a romance takes shape around the question of where his heart will settle, and the answers are tied to the broken sword he now holds.
