It opens with a 58 minute premiere and spends it grinding your face into the fine print of Xylo's sentence: die, come back, lose another piece of who you were. That's the hook nobody else is running. Resurrection as a punishment, memory as the currency you pay to keep fighting, and a brand on your body that says the kingdom owns your corpse. Then Teoritta shows up, all divine posture and desperate need to be useful, calling swords down out of the sky while the animation actually keeps up with her, weight in every landing, momentum carried through the turn instead of cut around it. Unit 9004 is a pack of condemned liars and cowards, and Venetim talking his way out of a death order hits different when you know he means it. The character writing does not always match the production. It doesn't have to when Xylo stands back up for the hundredth time and remembers less of Teoritta than he did yesterday.

Xylo Forbartz, once a respected commander of the Holy Knights, stands convicted of killing a goddess. His punishment is the title of Hero, a sentence reserved for the worst criminals.
