Piloting Yukikaze through the Jam doesn't change in this one, but what it means does. The experimental film finds what the series left unresolved: whether Fukai and his plane ever actually understood each other, or just became more dependent on the misunderstanding. Same cockpit, same fog, same radio chatter, but now you're watching a man asking if his best pilot was always talking to himself.

Sentou Yousei Yukikaze: Experimental Movie is a single-episode action and science fiction short that came packaged with the Yukikaze Blu-ray box set. It takes place after the last episode of the main OVA series, the story of Fukai Zero and his reconnaissance plane Yukikaze in a far-future war against Jam, an invading force that emerged from a vast pillar of fog at the South Pole.
