SYNOPSIS
Banzo, a sickly young merchant living in Edo-period Japan, finds himself bound to an unusual household. Unable to leave his room without collapsing, he relies on a rotating cast of caretakers who arrive each morning with a simple instruction: keep him alive until sunset. The twist arrives in the form of his attendants themselves. They are youkai, supernatural beings wearing human disguise, each one more eccentric than the last. A shapeshifter with a fondness for sweets, a nervous spirit afraid of his own shadow, a demon obsessed with cleanliness. What begins as medical desperation becomes something stranger as Banzo discovers his mysterious illness may be connected to these creatures who orbit his life. Between comedic mishaps and genuinely unsettling moments, the boundary between caretaker and patient blurs. The youkai seem bound to him as much as he is confined to his room, creating a domestic puzzle that unfolds slowly. Warmth and unease coexist as Banzo learns that sometimes the monsters keeping you alive are the ones worth knowing.
