This one makes you sit with the training before it ever lets you enjoy the fight. It's a single OVA that spends its patience on Gau Ban swinging at a standard he can't reach yet, because the number he's chasing is Scar Face's two thousand defeated opponents, and no amount of hard work closes that gap in an afternoon. Elle is the whole engine of it: adopted older sister, actual master of Shadow Skill, the person who has to be both the wall he hits and the reason he keeps getting up. Then the intruders come for the box, and the Kuruda style's killing secret stops being a title on a scroll and becomes something with a cost attached. The pacing is deliberate rather than explosive, which is exactly why the violence lands when it finally arrives. Watch how a kid measures himself against a legend and finds out legends were somebody's sibling first.

Gau Ban grows up in a kingdom of warriors, where a lethal fighting style known as Shadow Skill is used to keep the nation alive. The boy longs to become an unbeatable fighter someday, just like Scar Face, a legend credited with two thousand victories. To get there, he puts himself through tough training alongside Elle, his adoptive older sister and a full master of the technique. When a band of raiders storms the castle hoping to take a box that hides a secret, a lethal fight erupts. The one-episode OVA mixes fantasy, adventure and drama.
