Built from scenes of the original SEGA Dreamcast game along with some new footage made for the film, Shenmue: The Movie retells the story of the first game. Ryo, a respected student in Japan, watches his father being killed right in front of him, and a mysterious mirror is taken. Driven by revenge, he sets out to find the man behind his father's death and to learn who did it and why. The film is an action adventure built around that search.
