This is the show that makes you sit up straight the first time Kakeru Miwa suits up in the Yoroi, because it plays the henshin completely straight and expects you to cheer. Shikizakura isn't winking at tokusatsu, it's genuinely trying to be it in anime form: ordinary high schooler thrown onto a professional Oni-hunting squad, armor with weight and ritual behind it, a shrine maiden in Oka Myojin whose prophesied role hangs over every fight. The CG is the elephant in the room and yes, it wobbles, some Oni brawls look like cutscenes and the character animation can go stiff at the worst moment. But the earnestness carries it, the same way a mid-budget Kamen Rider season still lands when the hero refuses to stay down. Twelve episodes, no irony, real Aichi scenery under the monster fights. If you grew up watching guys in suits punch kaiju and never got the anime version you wanted, this is it.

Kakeru Miwa is a high school student whose life takes an odd turn when he ends up as an irregular member of a team that fights the Oni in powered suits. The Oni take over human hosts in an effort to hold on to the mortal world, and only the suit called Yoroi, which blends ancient secrets with modern technology, can stop them. Kakeru resolves to become a hero and protect Oka Myojin, a shrine maiden fated to save the world. She must carry out a sacred ritual in Shikizakura, a place where cherry blossoms and autumn leaves appear together and the spirit world meets the physical one. The science fiction action unfolds over twelve episodes.
