A fox watches a princess from the shadows, already certain he doesn't deserve her. The entire film is him wrestling with that certainty, turning self-loathing into the most honest kind of love story. It's a thesis project that understands something most mainstream romance anime never do: that longing hurts most when you've already decided you're wrong for the person you want.
A young fox falls in love the instant he sees a princess who comes to visit a flower garden close by. His feelings soon turn against him. Because he is a fox, he believes he is far too different from her and not worthy of her, and he is overwhelmed by hatred of himself. The film is a 2025 graduate project from the animation department of the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts.
