A baby seal living with a middle schooler is exactly as genuinely comforting as it sounds. The show doesn't reach for anything bigger than the small moments: Goma-chan learning to swim, the two of them figuring out what comes next, the quiet rhythm of a kid and his pet becoming a family. There's no plot twist waiting. There's no lesson being hammered. Just a seal who is learning the world and a boy learning how to take care of something that needs him. It's the kind of show that sits with you after you finish it, not because it changed you, but because it let you rest.

Ashibe Ashiya, an elementary schoolboy, returns for a second season of everyday adventures with Goma-chan, the baby spotted seal he keeps as a pet. Each short episode follows the pair through ordinary daily life, along with Ashibe's family and friends. The franchise comes from Morishita Hiromi's four-panel comic strip in Young Jump, and this 32-episode run of brief installments keeps its gentle mix of comedy and slice of life.
