Goma-chan is pure sedative for people who forgot that anime doesn't need to earn anything from you. No plot twists waiting to ambush you, no character arcs demanding investment, just a seal pup existing in spaces that feel lived-in and warm. The comedy lands in small moments: a reaction shot, timing that knows when to let silence do the work, the specific way a character tilts their head. This is the show you put on when you need to stop clenching. By season four, it knows exactly who's still watching, and it rewards them by doing the one thing most shows are too proud to do: nothing but be good company.

Ashibe and his household return for a fourth season of everyday life. The elementary school boy spends his days with his family and friends, along with a pet white sea lion. Based on Morishita Hiromi's four-panel comic strip from Young Jump, the show is a short-format comedy and slice of life that finds its laughs in ordinary daily moments.
