Kensei's scar never heals, it just gets redirected. A kid with nothing to lose finds the skater who ran, offers him a sport that doesn't exist yet, and suddenly the man who spent years avoiding the ice is building something with other people instead of against one. The show moves slower than figure skating itself, which means it lingers on the moments that matter: the first time a team trusts you enough to fall, the exact second you stop being someone's rival and become someone's anchor.

Kensei Maeshima was a figure skating prodigy as a child, but he walked away from the sport after his rival, Reo Shinozaki, refused to recognize his skill. Now a student at Inodai High School, he lends his athletic talent to various sports clubs without ever officially joining one. That changes when Reo publicly announces he is leaving singles skating for skate-leading, a competitive team-based form of skating, and enrolls at St. Clavis Gakuin, the reigning Grand Prix champions. Hayato Sasugai, a classmate who knows about Kensei's skating past and has some mysterious tie to Reo, persuades him to take up skate-leading so he can finally beat his rival in competition. The existing members of the Inodai Skate-Leading Club push back hard. Kensei is a strong solo skater, but he lacks teamwork skills, has a short temper, skates inconsistently and shares a complicated history with some of them. If the team wants to reach the Grand Prix Finals and challenge St. Clavis Gakuin, they will have to find a way to work together. Across 12 episodes, the sports drama follows their struggle to become a real team.
