A fifth grader stumbles into her basement and finds out she's supposed to fight an actual evil organization because her bloodline demands it. The show commits completely to the absurdity: these are kids with homework and crushes trying to live up to impossible ancestor expectations, and they're terrible at both. It's comedy that lands because the tone never breaks, romance that matters because the stakes are grounded in real friendship, and action that breathes because nobody's pretending this is anything other than what it is.

Isami Hanaoka is an ordinary fifth grader with an extraordinary inheritance: she is a descendant of the Shinsengumi. So are two of her classmates, Soushi Yukimi and Toshi Tsukikage. In the basement of Isami's home, the three find strange artifacts their ancestors left behind, along with a message calling on them to fight the evil Kurotengu organization. Their ancestors left them a mission. The series mixes action, adventure, comedy and romance across its fifty episodes.
