Nobody talks about this one. It's a 1966 comedy that moves like a silent film, physical humor so clean and timed so precisely that you're laughing before your brain catches up. Goku's early journey is pure slapstick and absurdist logic, the kind of thing that makes you realize how much modern anime has calcified into tropes. If you've only ever seen Goku as a fighter, this movie rewires what you thought you knew about the character. The comedy lands harder because it trusts you to find the joke without a punchline signpost.

Goku turns into a very naughty modern boy in this 1966 comedy fantasy film. The change answers complaints from children, who felt he came across as too much of an eager student. The rougher Goku, though, brings a wave of PTA complaints about bad language, and in the end the portrayal is forced out of the show.
