The guitar riffs carry more personality than the protagonist ever does. The show knows this, doesn't fight it, and builds something genuinely relaxing around a girl who exists mostly to be looked at, turning what should be shallow into something almost meditative. The soundtrack is the real star, the supporting cast actually breathes, and if you want slice-of-life that doesn't demand anything from you except to sit with it, this one doesn't insult your time.

Super Sonico juggles the chaos of college life while maintaining careers as a model, video game character, and musician. The clumsy, cheerful 18-year-old also works part-time at her grandmother's restaurant and sings lead and plays guitar in an all-girl band with her friends Suzu Fujimi and Fuuri Watanuki. She cannot resist anything cute and takes in every stray cat she finds. The show finds humor in her overstuffed schedule, and when the workload piles up, Suzu and Fuuri help keep her steady. Along the way she searches for her place in the world. The result is a lighthearted comedy mixed with music and slice-of-life moments.
