Cobra moves like a man who's already won the fight before it starts, and the movie trusts you to feel that confidence without explaining it. The 1982 aesthetic makes every frame look stolen from a pulp paperback cover, all neon and chrome and impossible angles. You're watching a space pirate operate on instinct and style in a universe that doesn't care about your survival, only whether you're cool enough to survive it anyway.

Cobra is a notorious space pirate whose left arm carries a powerful fused gun. After two years in hiding, he resurfaces when he meets the bounty hunter Jane, who enlists him to rescue her sister from the strange being known as Crystal Boy. The job puts Cobra in direct conflict with a vast criminal guild. Jane and her identical sisters turn out to be tied to the future of Myras, a mysterious planet that drifts freely through space, and helping them draws Cobra into a struggle over its fate. The result is a sci-fi action adventure film with the whole galaxy at stake.
