Kitaro operates from a place most heroes never reach: he's already dead, so there's nothing left to lose except the people he decides to protect. Kitaro is a ghost who spends his afterlife helping people who need what he can do, foiling the schemes of evil spirits bent on tormenting humanity. This time the call comes from his friend Megumi. Her father, a botanist, traveled to Baruru Island to study its plants, and while there he was carried off by evil spirits. Rescuing him falls to Kitaro. The result is a supernatural adventure series.
