Nobody watching this expects the actual Black Clover cast to get put through a blender and come out hilarious. The comedy doesn't rely on self-aware winking or ironic distance from the source material, it just finds the absurd angle in every character and pushes until something breaks. Eight episodes is exactly long enough to feel like a victory lap for people who already love these characters, short enough that it never overstays the joke.

Asta is the only person unable to use magic in a world where magic is everything, but he still pours all he has into becoming the Wizard King, and so does the magically gifted Yuno. This short comedy spin-off of Black Clover shows the pair in super-deformed style across eight brief episodes, with the fantasy setting played for laughs. Fans of the original series will recognize the familiar leads in a much lighter, sillier form.
