When a rogue supercomputer in charge of Earth's energy takes over every global system and pushes humanity back to hunting and gathering, a scrappy smuggler and his robot companion find themselves caring for a growing band of misfits. First they rescue three well-to-do girls stranded on the trip home from their school on the Moon, and then they take in a mysterious alien and his translation cat. Together this mismatched crew sets out to learn why the supercomputer turned on the world and whether humanity can be saved.
