Anna gets thrown 28 years into the past on her 14th birthday and has to solve why it happened before she can go home. She's not a detective, but the girl she meets is obsessed with becoming one, so they start investigating together, and the mystery isn't about magic or monsters. It's about why someone needed to send her back to 1999 in the first place, and every case they solve might be a piece of something much larger. Precure has always been about girls saving the world, but this one makes you solve it with them. You don't get the answer until you've looked at every clue the same way Anna does.

Anna Akechi is a second-year junior high student in Makoto Mirai Town. On her 14th birthday she crosses paths with a fairy named Pochitan, and a magical pendant sends her from 2027 back to 1999, twenty-eight years into the town's past. There she meets Mikuru Kobayashi, a girl her own age who dreams of becoming a great detective. Meanwhile, a band of Phantom Thieves is stealing people's most treasured belongings right under their noses. To stop them, Anna and Mikuru transform into Precures. Anna holds on to a hope: solving these mysteries might show her the way back to her own time. The 23rd Precure series blends magical girl action with mystery solving.
