Shoma Mihara, a first-year high school student, gets a message from his best friend Atsushi after years without contact, inviting him to a rare festival so the two can catch up. Shoma travels to the Tanabata Nanayamatsuri, held in an abandoned village deep in the mountains and said to be a place where you can meet anyone you wish. Atsushi is nowhere to be found. Instead, Shoma meets Shiori, a girl who also has someone she hopes to see. At the suggestion of Kanna, who runs the festival, the two stay on to help with preparations and soon get caught up in strange events in the town.
