Yuuta's refusal to quit is the entire spine of this show, and it costs him everything twice over. The soundtrack doesn't just accompany the story, it IS the story, every song a moment where the character has no choice but to be honest. Second-year students supporting their seniors' final stage isn't just plot; it's the specific kind of heartbreak that comes from loving something so much you have to help it leave you behind.

Yuuta Hoshitani made it through his first year at Ayanagi Academy, but second year brings a whole new gauntlet. The prestigious arts school holds a legendary production called Shadow & Lights every year, and only five second-year students earn the chance to perform alongside the graduating seniors they've admired all along. It's the ultimate test of talent and dedication, the kind of opportunity that separates the serious performers from the rest. Yuuta and 24 fellow musical department students enter auditions for these training roles, with former Kao Council members known as the Ancients coaching them. Riku Ageha, who has spent years perfecting the role of Alexis' Shadow, is a leading contender, while Yuuta's lack of show business experience leaves him at a real disadvantage. Starmyu 2 mixes comedy and music with the infectious energy of a performing arts school.
