This is the season where the Japanese Stitch! stops being a curiosity and starts being a show about leaving home. Yuuna Kamihara has already done the hard part of accepting a blue alien gremlin into her life, so watching her uproot from Izayoi to the Okinawa main island and start over at a new school lands with actual weight, especially for anyone who knows what it feels like to be the small-island kid in a big-island classroom. The Okinawan texture is still the best thing here, Kijimunaa hovering around like a tree spirit with no sense of personal space, Yuuna's karate discipline running straight into 626's total lack of any. Jumba and Pleakley remain the world's least reassuring adult supervision, and yes, space trouble finds them again, because it always does. Twenty-nine episodes of a friendship that keeps having to prove it survives a change of address.
