Yukari Morita, a high school girl, travels to the Solomon Islands to search for her father, who went missing during his honeymoon. There she crosses paths with Nasuda, director of the Solomon Space Agency, whose team has struggled to build a rocket strong enough to carry an adult into orbit. Seeing how petite Yukari is, Nasuda realizes she could fly on a smaller rocket the agency already has. He strikes a bargain: if she works part-time as their astronaut, the SSA will help find her father. Soon she is picked as a crew member for the first Japanese manned spaceship. The result is a comedic sci-fi adventure built on an unlikely premise.
