Nagisa arrives at St. Miator's Academy, a prestigious all-girls school on Astraea Hill alongside two sister institutions. The campus runs on an intricate social order in which the Etoile serves as the standout representative of all three schools. As the new transfer student settles into dormitory life with her enthusiastic roommate Tamao, attends classes and makes friends, she catches the attention of Shizuma, the sole Etoile, whose past is a troubled one. Shizuma seems openly drawn to Nagisa, and their encounters make Nagisa a hot topic on campus, even as she senses something may be off. As the two grow closer, Shizuma decides it is finally time to face her past.
