Kyouichirou Hiiragi, eldest son of a wealthy family, leaves Momoki Village for Tokyo near the end of the Taisho era to study at Imperial University, bringing his family's heirloom katana with him. Since a severe childhood illness, he has been able to see the spirits of the dead, and he wishes they looked less frightening. When he wakes up, he finds that he himself has turned much smaller and cuter. His unusual sight draws the attention of the Imperial Japanese Army, whose factions hope to use the dead as soldiers, while a mysterious stranger and a seemingly anti-government group called the Five Katana also enter his life. The result is a short-form supernatural spin-off of the boys-love game Taisho Mebius Line.
