Mihoshi is so catastrophically incompetent that her partner Kiyone's entire career arc is just learning to accept the void. The special knows exactly what it is: a 90s comedy that stops to parody whatever anime crossed its path that week. By the end you're not watching a plot resolve, you're watching two cops argue about paperwork while the universe does whatever it wants around them.

On a sunny day, Mihoshi naps while everyone else does chores, and Aeka questions whether she is really fit to be a Galaxy Police officer. Stung, Mihoshi sets out to prove herself by narrating how she and her partner Kiyone, a rising officer who fears that being paired with Mihoshi could end her career, stopped a string of thefts involving a powerful energy matter. For fun, she casts Tenchi and the others in her story, so familiar faces turn up in alternate roles. The tale parodies various anime works while also looking at Mihoshi's past and offering a glimpse of her probable future, though her fanciful telling may reveal a shaky grip on reality more than any real skill as a detective. The result is a comedic sci-fi side story from the Tenchi Muyo! franchise.
