The match nearly falls through until Mitoto, mother of Mihoshi and Misao, gives her family's blessing, to the displeasure of former G.P. Marshall Minami Kuramitsu. Daily life for the Masaki clan carries on until the question of how Tenchi's mother died comes up. The answer threatens to divide Tenchi, his father and his grandfather, and only Rea, Tenchi's future mother-in-law, can mend it.
