A family held together by duct tape and spite gets conscripted to save the world. The alien invasions are just an excuse to watch these four people actually talk to each other for the first time. By the final episode you realize the real threat was never the invaders, it was everything unsaid at the dinner table.

The Daichi family is falling apart. Mom Seiko, unhappy and fixated on money, has handed divorce papers to Mamoru, a timid otaku dad. Daughter Nozomi has always been stuck with the housework and is hurt that everyone takes advantage of her. Dai, the youngest and the one with the filthiest mouth, can only watch as things collapse around him. Then the Galaxy Federation recruits the Daichis to fight alien threats to Earth. The mission gives the family a shot at saving the planet, and perhaps saving themselves along the way. The result mixes comedy, action and science fiction.
