Ryoko and Ayeka turn a shojo manga into a battle manual, and the whole thing derails into chaos because neither of them understands Earth romance any better than a alien warrior understands subtlety. The comedy lives in watching two women who could destroy planets decide their best move is copying manga panels and hoping Tenchi doesn't notice the absurdity. It's a show that knows exactly what it is: a punchline wrapped around characters you already love, executed with the confidence of a franchise that earned the right to coast on chemistry instead of stakes.

A few days after Kagato's defeat, life at the Masaki home settles back into its usual chaos. Ryoko finds Sasami and Mihoshi reading shojo manga, which Sasami takes to be guides on winning a boy's heart the Earth way, and Ryoko sees her opening. Using ideas from the pages, she sets out to win Tenchi's affections. Ayeka learns what her rival is up to and turns the same method to her own ends. Both women act out the scenarios they have read about, putting Tenchi through one staged situation after another in the hope that he will fall for one of them. The results leave no one satisfied, in a comedic OVA that pits storybook romance against real life.
