Sunred takes the hero-vs-villain formula and inverts every social dynamic, the bad guys are considerate neighbors who happen to want world domination, the hero is an asshole who saves the day anyway. The comedy lives in watching both sides commit fully to their roles despite genuinely liking each other. It's a comedy about obligation, not morality, set in the mundane streets of Kawasaki where the most dramatic thing that happens is someone forgetting to return a borrowed lawn mower.

Sunred is a rough-around-the-edges superhero tasked with protecting the Tama River region from the evil machinations of Florsheim, a villainous organization determined to conquer the world. The catch: Sunred is brutish, foul-mouthed, and aggressively rude to anyone he encounters, while General Vamp and his Florsheim crew are genuinely kind, thoughtful, and well-mannered. They want to destroy him anyway. Despite their drastically different personalities, both sides remain committed to their roles in this absurd struggle. Sunred launches into battle with volcanic anger while Florsheim deploys schemes with the politeness of office workers planning a company lunch. Comedy emerges naturally from watching these fundamentally mismatched characters interact. The gap between Sunred's volcanic temper and Florsheim's civility never stops being funny, especially when his girlfriend Kayoko ends up on friendly terms with Vamp while trading barbs with Sunred himself. Expect short, snappy episodes that understand the best jokes come from character dynamics rather than elaborate setups. This is comedy that values personality over plot.
