Hitoshi Matsumoto takes a beloved kids' character and flips it into something genuinely unhinged, a creature that shouldn't exist doing violence that shouldn't be funny, except it absolutely is. The comedy works because it's committed to the bit: Kyou-chan doesn't just fight back, he grows arms from his head and feet from his mouth to do it, and the show treats this with the deadpan absurdity of someone who refuses to wink at the audience. Nobody remembers this exists, which is the real crime, it's the kind of 90s comedy short that got buried but hits harder than shows that spent twelve episodes doing half as much.

A boy has an ugly little creature named Kyou-chan as his companion, and anyone who harms the kid soon regrets it. When provoked, Kyou-chan grows arms out of the top of his head and feet out of his mouth, then tears his victim's insides apart. Comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto wrote this 1994 short-form TV comedy as a parody of Obake no Q-taro. The critter bears an odd resemblance to Butthead, and the run lasts seven episodes.
