A crybaby first-grader and a tiny second-grader hold hands on the walk to school, and that simple kindness becomes the entire story. When Akiyo breaks, Masaya walks into the forest alone to find flowers she loves, not to save the world but just to make her smile again. The animation moves like real children move, unhurried and true. This is what comfort actually looks like on screen.

Masaya is a first-grader who stands tall for his age, yet he is a crybaby who cannot face the dark path to school by himself. Each day he holds the hand of Akiyo, a small but capable second-grader who guides him along the way. He looks up to her and wishes he could be as strong as she is. Then one day something leaves Akiyo in tears. Hoping to cheer her up, Masaya sets off on a trek to the faraway Ipponsugi forest in search of the spotted bellflowers she loves, a journey far scarier than his daily walk. The film is an adventure made as part of the 2014 Anime Mirai young animator training project.
