An elite assassin known only as Fable is famed as a killer who can take any man's life within six seconds. Six years into his career, his boss worries that he is drawing too much notice from the authorities and sends him to lie low in Osaka for a year. His driver goes with him, posing as his sister. The terms are strict: Fable must live as an ordinary civilian and kill no one, or he and his partner will pay with their lives. The break turns sour quickly. Takeshi Ebihara, second-in-command of the Osaka mafia that is officially protecting him, sees Fable as a threat and wants him gone. Watched by the yakuza and thrown into life-or-death situations, Fable has to outsmart Takeshi's plots without breaking his vow. The show blends action, comedy, drama, romance and thriller, drawing much of its humor from how hard being normal is for a man built for killing.
