Ninjas, long thought to be extinct, resurfaced in Japan after the Pacific War and now slip quietly into a large share of the country's public and private institutions. NIN, the elite ninja organization, operates outside the control of the civilian government, carrying out assassinations and sabotage in secret, while a rival group called UN stands opposed to it. Kurou Kumogakure is a 17-year-old ninja who idles away his days in a shabby apartment and pilfers beer from his neighbor, yet he may be far more dangerous than he looks.
