Four teenage cousins escape a burning castle when a cruel, greedy baron named Alwine orders their home destroyed, and they flee into Sherwood Forest. Robin, Will, Winifred and Barbara must learn to survive in the wild, relying on the wise counsel of a hermit known as Friar Tuck. The forest is also home to a bold band of young outlaws led by Little John. When the bandits seize a young noblewoman named Marian in an ambush, the two groups clash over what will become of her. Their hostility soon gives way to friendship, and when they later realize the same baron has wronged them both, they agree to stand together against Alwine and his soldiers. What follows is a romantic adventure in which Robin grows into a defender of the poor and oppressed.
