After the death of his wife, King Conrad remarries for the sake of his only daughter, Snow White. His new wife, Chrystel, is cruel, vain and selfish, and she rules harshly while the king is away. Lonely and ignored, the princess finds comfort in her puppy, kitten and white dove, and in meeting the young noble Prince Richard, until he is sent off on a long journey. Soon after he leaves, Chrystel uses a hunter to try to have Snow White killed. The girl flees, wanders the wilderness through a terrible night and falls asleep in a small cottage. Its owners, seven kindly dwarfs, give her a fright at first but become loyal friends. The 52-episode TV series blends fantasy adventure with romance.
